A grass grows from 1 to 3 meters in height. Leaves are 2 to 8 centimeters in width and longitudinally folded. Panicle to 80 cm long, loose with long, flexuous or straight branches, main axis straight or nodding. Spikelets 2.5-3.5 mm long, at least some, and always the terminal, subtended by a scabrid bristle usually not more than 3 times the length of the spikelet.Seeds are about 3 millimeters long and are borne in large numbers on terminal shoots. |
